There is no universal “best Instagram automation tool.” There is a best tool for a job. This page is the job-to-tool map we would give a friend, using public prices we checked on 23 August 2026. Confirm on their sites. Our prices always come from Xuios pricing.

If you need WhatsApp, SMS, and Instagram in one canvas
ManyChat. After March 2026, Free is 25 active contacts and 4 automations. Essential starts around $14/mo for 250 contacts, then overage. Pro is about $29/mo for 2,500. Business $69. Advanced $139. AI is roughly a $29 add-on. It is the suite. It is also how a viral comment-to-DM becomes a billing event.
Chatfuel. Light is free for non-AI automations across Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. AI PRO is $69/mo or $49/mo yearly, with unpublished fair-use AI pauses. If you want Meta-wide keyword flows for $0, Light is the honest pick. If you want priced AI, it is expensive.
We will not tell you Xuios replaces those suites. We do not ship WhatsApp.
If you only need Instagram comment-to-DM
InstantDM. Flat. Free published at 500 DMs. Legend $9.99 unlimited (they bundle AI). Trendsetter $24.99. Closest cousin to Xuios. Facebook is in their story; it is not in ours.
ReplyRush. About $7/mo, comment-to-DM focused. Cheap. Narrower product.
LinkDM. Free contact bucket with features locked; paid around $19/mo with a DM cap.
Xuios. Free: 1,000 DMs, 8 automations, follow gate, tracked links, story triggers. Creator: $4.99 unlimited, 2 accounts. Pro: $8.99 with AI, 5 accounts. Instagram only. Official API. No contact overage.

What “best” should never mean
It should not mean “we paid for a listicle.” It should not mean “#1 Instagram automation” on a domain that did not exist last month. It should mean: the limits and the invoice match the job.
Xuios is best when the job is “comment LINK, get the DM, measure the tap, maybe gate the freebie.” It is not best when the job is “run SMS plus WhatsApp plus email from one board.”
How we priced ourselves on purpose
We looked at the cheap Instagram tools, not just ManyChat’s ladder.
- Free had to beat InstantDM’s 500 DMs and ManyChat’s 4 automations / 25 contacts.
- Creator had to sit under ReplyRush (~$7) and InstantDM ($9.99).
- Pro + AI had to sit under InstantDM Legend ($9.99) and Chatfuel AI ($49–$69).

How to run a two-day bake-off
Pick one live post. Create the same keyword in two tools. Comment from two tester accounts. Compare: time to first DM, whether the public reply posted, whether a non-follower can be gated, whether the link is unique, and what the next invoice would be at 1,000 unique people.
Do not compare dashboards. Compare the commenter’s phone.
What we left out
Hootsuite, Later, and Buffer are schedulers. They may grow Instagram features; they are not comment-to-DM products first. Growth panels that want your password are not in the table on purpose.
